The Mesquite Arts Center supports multiple arts disciplines including music, drama, visual arts and literary programming. The 500 seat Concert Hall features a canopied stage that is both intimate and acoustically impressive. The Black Box Theatre is completely flexible for both the audience and theatrical artists. The Arts Center also features the Main & Chamber Galleries, Jeann & Ralph Wisenbaker Courtyard and the Rehearsal Hall.

We meet at Northside Baptist Church (3130 Moon Drive) every Tuesday night at 7 PM.

Boys from ages 11 thru 18 are welcome to come visit and join any time of the year. We have Scouts from Mesquite, Garland, and East Dallas. Outdoor activities include climbing (indoor and rock), caving, camping, backpacking, canoeing, fishing, and all kinds of fun in an environment planned and led by the Scouts.
Activities planned for 2000 thru 2001:

  • Overnight Campout on the carrier U.S.S. Lexington.
  • Family trip to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels.
  • Summer Camp in the Rockies of N. Colorado.
  • Stoneworks Climbing Lock-In.
  • Visit to Ft. Sill (Always fun!).
  • Canoeing and backpacking trips with Venture.
  • Weeklong canoe trip on the Buffalo River in Arkansas.

    Lots of fun and no boredom allowed. Come Join us!
Mesquite Social Services
Mesquite Social Services, initially named the Drawer Fund, was established in 1964 under the direction of Jewell Westmoreland. MSS since its inception has served as a vital component to the greater Mesquite community.

In 2000, Mesquite Social Services provided services to 2,072 households, consisting of more than 6,300 individuals, and providing more than 64,000 pounds of food.

Mesquite Soccer Association

Mesquite Soccer Association is the largest youth sports organization in Mesquite with approximately 3,000 players, coaches, and administrators. It has been in existence for over 20 years and soccer is the fastest growing sport in the country. It is relatively inexpensive compared to other sports and MSA has guaranteed playing time rules so that every child gets to participate equally. Boys and girls ages 4-19 are welcomed.
